My wife and I have been trying to sell our house for the last three months, and the wait has been testing our patience. We keep reminding ourselves to trust in God and His perfect timing, but it’s been hard not to feel the weight of uncertainty.
Each day brings new challenges, and we’re leaning on our faith now more than ever. We’ve made it a habit to pray regularly, asking for guidance and peace, though it’s often a struggle to truly surrender our worries and let God take control.
Perhaps being off work for the past week and a half due to the holidays has given us too much time to reflect on our life, making it harder to distract ourselves from the uncertainty. While I almost welcome the distraction of returning to work, I can’t ignore the mixed emotions about going back to a job position I truly don’t enjoy as much as I would like to. They say, “Find a job you love, and you’ll never work a day in your life,” but that’s a journey I’ve yet to embark on fully. For now, that story will have to wait for another day.
It is wise to draw encouragement from the words of Philippians 4:6-7 (NIV):
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
I will say that God has always come through for me in the past—always. He has never failed me. Knowing that should make trusting Him easier, but as humans, we often let doubt creep in.
I have found that getting involved in church and ministry activities is a powerful way to stay focused on God and His Glory. Serving as vice president of my local CMA chapter has been especially meaningful. It constantly reminds me of God’s presence in our lives and provides opportunities to connect with others who share a passion for faith, service, and motorcycling. Through this group, I’ve found tools and opportunities to reach out to those in the motorcycling community who are searching for hope and healing in a broken world.
I’ll share more about this in another post, but for now, I encourage you to find ways to engage with a community or ministry that inspires you to keep your eyes on Him and hold on to your faith. Whether it’s joining small groups in your local Bible-centered church or finding other ways to serve, these connections are invaluable for staying centered in the Lord.
How has God shown up in your life and strengthened your faith? Share your story in the comments—I’d love to hear how He’s working in your life, and it can be encouraging to others as well!
